In December 2019 Mr Green, Mr Woodward and Mr Maguire attended an education conference in Indonesia. During the conference they learnt about an opportunity to train and qualify Rugby School Thailand as a centre for the Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (PDQ).
Mr Woodward, one of our Senior School D&T teachers, recently completed the 10-week course and is now our designated programme leader for Cambridge PDQ. This means we can deliver and assess candidates who undertake the course to Diploma level and offer excellent professional development for staff in-house. We can offer our teaching staff the opportunity to develop their skills in teaching and learning, while gaining certification from an internationally respected awarding body.
We have just received a shiny new plaque to show that we are a certified Cambridge Development Centre, and in due course (when the world opens up again) we hope to be able to use this to benefit fellow schools in Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia.
