JOIN OUR VIRTUAL OPEN DAY

Wednesday 3rd March, 4-7pm

WHOLE PERSON WHOLE POINT

Our mantra is ‘The Whole Person is the Whole Point’. This means that while academic excellence lies at the heart of the Rugby School Thailand experience, sport, music, art, drama and co-curricular activities are in no way peripheral. Every child has space to thrive on our glorious countryside campus with its first-class facilities.

There is nothing quite like seeing our campus in person – the facilities, the green space, the vibrant atmosphere. We are one of the fastest-growing British international day and boarding schools in Asia and, at a time when visiting is not possible for many of you, we are going to bring the school to life for you via our Virtual Open Day.

On Wednesday 3rd March from 4pm (UTC) our Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior Heads will take you on a tour around each section of the school, give you details of our approach and curriculum, and take live questions from you along the way.

Our School Heads

Sarah Shuttleworth

Head of Pre-Prep School

Sarah joined Rugby School Thailand in September 2017 after five years as an ‘outstanding’ Assistant Head and Head of Pre-Prep at Feltonfleet Prep, a private school in southern England. She brought fresh ideas and vision, and ‘total commitment to the personal, social and academic development of the pupils in her care’, and has been a very highly-regarded Head of Early Years in three different countries, all following the British National Curriculum.

David Ennis-Billing

Acting Head of Senior School

Dave joined Rugby School Thailand after several years as Housemaster and Director of Activities at Strathallan School in Perthshire.

He has previously taught at Ampleforth College and Uppingham School, where he was Director of Sport and coached 1st team rugby and cricket. Dave studied at Loughborough University and has a strong background of British independent boarding schools.

Nigel Westlake

Founding Head & Head of Prep School
Our Head of Prep and Founding Headmaster, Nigel Westlake, has been an integral part of creating the school you see today. Former headmaster of Packwood Haugh School and Brambletye School, Nigel has over 30 years experience in the UK independent sector, with 15 of those as head.

Featuring a welcome from Mr Bruce Gindlay, the Principal Designate

Bruce Grindlay will be joining Rugby School Thailand in August 2021. He is currently Head Master of Sutton Valence School in the UK, a highly successful HMC and IAPS co-educational school for children aged two to 18, which he has led since 2009. We look forward to hearing more from him at our forthcoming Virtual Open Day.

Pre-Prep

Rugby School Thailand's inspiring and creative Pre-Prep provides an excellent foundation to a child's education; different environments, such as our soft play room, splash pool and Eco Garden, ensure learning is fun and memorable. From Reception upwards the day is followed by a variety of after-school activities, introducing pupils to our valuable co-curricular programme from an early age.

Prep

Our purpose built Prep School classroom block keeps nature present at all times and lessons take place in any number of our fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities. As children excel academically, we simultaneously develop the 'whole person', teaching them core values of kindness, curiosity, courage and resilience; the sports fields and our unique Outdoor Education Centre are two of the most rewarding settings to watch children develop these traits.

Senior

The Senior School experience continues seamlessly from the earlier years, instilling a greater sense of independent learning as students prepare for IGCSE and A Level exams. Our aim is to ensure every child develops into a capable young adult with a restless desire to learn.

Our Sixth Form programme is tailored to each individual with bespoke tutor support. Our students go on to top global universities.

Boarding

We see great benefits to the pupils in our boarding community. Boarding reduces the commute, giving children more time to study, enjoy hobbies and play with friends. It increases independence, nurtures deep friendships, improves language skills and fosters community spirit.

Our House Parents create exciting evening and weekend activities for Rugby boarders, including some all-important relaxation time, too. The children here work hard and play hard!

We offer day boarding (1-2 fixed nights per week), weekly boarding (4 nights during the school week) and full time boarding (7 nights per week during term time). We also offer Senior boarding trial nights on request.

Co-curricular & Sport

Our sport and co-curricular provision are second to none.

Sport is in our DNA. Rugby School is where rugby the game was invented; our incredible sporting facilities are synonymous with our passion in this area of school life.

In addition to daily sport, we offer over 70 different co-curricular activities in any given term, perpetually giving children the opportunity to broaden interests, discover new skills and develop hobbies.

Sport and co-curricular are part of the daily timetable, encouraging our pupils to open themselves to new experiences without fear of failure.

Join us on 3rd March from 4-7pm
