Rugby Rising: Our Team's Journey

Rugby Rising: Our Team's Journey

Last Friday marked a monumental day for RST's rugby team as they competed fiercely in a prestigious tournament against renowned international schools like ISB, Bangkok Prep and Bangkok Patana.

Amidst an atmosphere charged with excitement and determination, our team emerged victorious in a thrilling final, defeating ISB with a score of 17-7. This triumph not only showcased their exceptional skill and teamwork but also underscored their unwavering resilience and School pride.

After a grueling day of intense rugby matches, the team's spirits soared even higher on Tuesday when they had the privilege of a training session with none other than Ross Filipo, an esteemed figure in the world of rugby. Ross, a former All-Black player with a storied career, served as an assistant coach for the Chiefs in New Zealand and currently holds the prestigious position of Head Coach for the Maori All Blacks Team.

Throughout the session, Ross Filipo imparted invaluable wisdom, emphasising the importance of proper tackle techniques and the strategic positioning required to dominate defensively. His insights into the nuances of the game not only enhanced their understanding but also instilled a deeper appreciation for the artistry and discipline inherent in rugby.

The impact of this training session extended beyond tactical proficiency; it served as a catalyst for renewed determination and camaraderie among the players. As they continue their journey in rugby, the lessons learnt from Ross Filipo will undoubtedly resonate, guiding them towards future successes and reinforcing the values of perseverance, sportsmanship and unity that define the essence of RST rugby.

Looking ahead, the RST rugby team stands poised to build upon their recent triumph and continue their pursuit of excellence in the sport they love. With each match and training session, they embody the spirit of dedication and passion that defines not only their athletic endeavours but also their collective identity as ambassadors of RST.

As we celebrate their achievements and the invaluable lessons learnt from a true rugby legend, we stand united in support of our remarkable RST rugby team, cheering them on as they embrace the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead on their inspiring journey.
