Community Action Programme
We strongly believe that education goes beyond the classroom and aims to foster in our children a sense of connection to the local and global communities. Our Community Action Programme (CAP) is an important part of this pursuit. It teaches children about understanding, empathy and awareness of others — values that transcend race, class, religion, gender and politics.
Our Community Action Programme helps children:
- Find meaningful goals
- Embrace new challenges and adapt to new roles
- Explore new possibilities
- Actively participate in CAP projects and improve interpersonal skills
-
Reflect upon their experiences
- Determine future steps that will contribute to their personal growth
- Understand they are a member of local and global communities, and that they have responsibilities towards others and the environment
What does our Community Action Programme involve?
Charity Outreach
Our children and staff volunteer their time and their skills to our charity partners. Together, they organise worker appreciation days, local charity drives, learning activities and other initiatives that strengthen the charity organisations and the communities.
Leadership Skills
Our children enjoy guided and peer-to-peer leadership coaching, where they learn about effective communication and organisation. These skills help them engage and share knowledge with people across generations within the community.
Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an internationally recognised youth award programme that encourages young individuals to build all-rounded life skills and healthy lifestyle habits. It helps empower the choices our children make to stay physically active, develop nonacademic skills, embrace adventure and offer a helping hand to those around them.
