Sarah Perkins | Year 2 teacher | Pre-Prep
Miss Sarah is Canadian but joins us from twelve years of teaching in England. She is here with her husband, John, and their 6-year-old twins, Liam and Sian.
What was the biggest draw behind your move here?
We were looking to live our best life, working hard but getting to enjoy our family time and see the world. As soon as I learnt about RST I knew that this would be an amazing opportunity to move to a country we all love and allowing me to work and teach at a world class school.
What are your first impressions of RST?
Amazing! The design of the school and grounds has been so well thought out. There is so much space, including green space, so it is great to be “out” of the city and concrete jungle. We have also been so grateful for everyone’s extreme friendliness. It is not easy to move your family oversees and from the moment we arrived both colleagues and students have been so kind and welcoming.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love to cook and bake so I am very excited about learning some interesting and delicious Thai recipes. I also love to travel, learn about new cultures, and meet new people, this is a big passion of mine, one that I hope I am passing onto my children.
Can you tell us a random fact about yourself?
In University I was part of setting a new Guinness World Record for the world’s longest human conveyor belt!
