Meet our new Head of Admissions

We caught up with our new Head of Admissions, Paul Corr, to ask him some questions about his new role here at RST and what he is most excited about. Read the interview below.

Q. What is the most exciting part of taking on the role of Director of Admissions for Rugby School Thailand (RST)?

That’s an easy one! Joining a school that has created so much within just 4 years is an amazing opportunity for anyone. The school has attracted outstanding teaching staff and with a campus that any school in the world would be proud of, RST is fast becoming one of the best international schools in Asia. I feel lucky to be part of that and am super excited to see what the future holds.

Q. What have you learnt from past roles leading admissions for international schools?

Oh, so much I would struggle to say it all here but over the past 20 years working internationally with schools, one of the most important things I’ve learnt is that we should listen carefully to parents, teachers, colleagues and students. Each one of us has our own language, culture and perspective so getting to know our community and truly hearing what people have to say is the best way I know to build trust and ensure we do what is best for the children who are at the centre of what we do.

Q. What are your plans for continuing to raise the profile of RST?

RST’s reputation is growing extremely quickly and I firmly believe the school’s mission of educating the whole person will result in our students going on to do wonderful things in many different areas of interest. I am very much looking forward to sharing their success and that of the school with as many people as possible, both nationally and internationally.

Q. What plans do you have for Admissions at RST?

Our aim is to attract students who are best suited to RST’s environment. I’m hoping to build on the outstanding foundations that already exist to make sure all incoming families have a seamless introduction to the school. Promoting outstanding communication will be key and having just completed an MSc. in Digital Business, I’m hoping to bring technology into the process a little more to help free up time for staff and parents to do what they do best- focus on our students as they join a new school.

Q. Will parents have an opportunity to meet you?

One of the best parts of my job is helping parents as they choose a school for their children so I will meet new parents all the time. I have also worked closely with parent/teacher and charity groups in the past so, if the opportunity to do this arises, I’ll have a great way to get to know many of our current parents too. Having two children at the school and a wife as a teacher will also help me to get to know more of our community. Something I look forward to.

Q. Is there anything you’d like to say to parents thinking about joining Rugby School Thailand?

We are a growing welcoming community. Just get in touch, ask lots of questions and visit as soon as you can. We’ll help you to get to know us and if you feel Rugby is the best school for your family, we’ll make the application process easy for you. It’s as simple as that really.
