Cater & Care

“If you knew what I know about the power of giving, you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way”. Buddha

The impact of Covid is being felt far and wide and at Rugby School Thailand we want to help where we can. Our ‘Cater & Care’ initiative will provide lunch boxes for two nearby field hospitals.

The School’s kitchen and catering staff currently have more time and space due to the campus closure and we are putting it to good use. We also have an on-site community who are eager to help. Initially the team have been preparing and delivering 200-300 fresh meal boxes per day, to help feed front-line medical staff and patients at the temporary hospital sites.

In addition, the Teepsuwan family have been rolling out a similar initiative in Bangkok, employing street food vendors to create meals for those who cannot afford them. They are also making ‘Hero Bags’ to help the many doctors spending night and day in hospital: eating, sleeping and working tirelessly. The ‘Hero Bags’ offer survival kits for individual use including many necessary items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving kits, cutlery, tumblers, pillows, blankets, towels, shampoo and shower gels, sanitizers and energy bars. We hope to be able to produce and give out some of these bags alongside the meals at our local field hospitals.

We need your support!

We would like to appeal to our extensive and generous RST community to support the ‘Cater & Care’ initiative. Each meal is being produced at a cost of 35 THB each – which means a donation of 700 THB would cover 10% of the meals we are currently producing each day! But every contribution, large or small, will help us to extend our ‘Cater & Care’ project as Thailand tackles its third wave.
