Why choose a Forest School?
The natural world has become the newest and most inspiring classroom on our campus.
We are proud to be leading the way in outdoor education, as the first and only accredited Forest School in Thailand. With our Archimedes Forest Schools 'Development Centre Status', our programme officially meets internationally recognised standards and reflects the depth of expertise and commitment within our Pre-Prep team. Nestled near the Early Years area of our campus, this unique outdoor learning space has quickly become a favourite among both children and teachers. This is where curiosity thrives, confidence grows and imagination knows no bounds!
A Unique Outdoor Learning Space
Our Forest School offers children a safe and stimulating environment to explore nature first-hand. The space encourages freedom, collaboration and risk-taking, helping children develop qualities that are central to our Rugby School Thailand Learner Profile: resilience, reflection, teamwork and global mindedness. They are encouraged to explore, collaborate, solve problems and take supported risks. This style of outdoor learning environment also complements academic learning, supporting a balanced education that nurtures mind, body and spirit.
Enquiry-Led Learning
The beauty of our Forest School is that it is enquiry-led. This means that every session begins with curiosity and the children lead the way for what the session holds: they ask questions, independently explore and make discoveries, and solve problems to facilitate their own creative ideas. Whether it's building dens, making potions, identifying insects or exploring textures of tree bark, real-world experiences ignite their imaginations and support critical thinking skills. Importantly, this nature-based play supports academic progress.

New Experiences, New Skills
One of the most exciting aspects of our Forest School curriculum is seeing children do things they’ve never done before like climbing trees, balancing on logs or creating imaginative games inspired by nature. These experiences build gross motor skills, spatial awareness and a strong sense of self-assurance. The joy and pride children feel when achieving something new outdoors directly translates into a positive attitude towards learning back in the classroom.

from Forest to Classroom
The Forest School programme seamlessly it connects with classroom topics. For example, during our recent “People Who Help Us” unit, children explored how teamwork, care, and community exist both inside and outside the classroom. The outdoor setting provides authentic opportunities for children to apply what they learn by communicating, collaborating and reflecting on their discoveries. This integration of outdoor learning and curriculum study reinforces deeper understanding and long-term engagement.
A Growing Community of Practitioners
As our Forest School continues to flourish, more and more of our staff are undergoing official Forest School training to enhance the programme further. Their growing expertise ensures that we can offer even richer and more purposeful experiences for our students, making the most of this magical corner of our campus. It’s not just a learning space; it’s a shared vision for how education should feel: alive, dynamic, and deeply connected to the world around us.
Our Forest School stands as a shining example of how outdoor learning supports academic excellence, emotional development and physical wellbeing. It represents the values of our British international education - curiosity, courage and compassion - and is a place where that lifelong love of learning truly begins.
In our Forest School, every fallen leaf becomes a story, every branch an adventure and every child a confident, curious learner.
