Thailand International Youth Orchestra at RST

A hugely exciting element of our new auditorium - the Teepsuwan Theatre - opening this year, is our partnership with the Thailand International Youth Orchestra (TIYO). 

TIYO will be officially based right here on our campus, bringing a world-class musical presence to Rugby School Thailand (RST), enriching our vibrant arts community and creating extraordinary new opportunities for our students. 

Opening Doors for Young Musicians Across Asia 

Across the region, national youth orchestras are typically restricted to citizens, leaving an entire generation of gifted young performers - particularly those studying at international schools - without an orchestral pathway.  TIYO was founded to bridge this gap. As an inclusive, cross-border initiative, TIYO ensures that every talented and dedicated young musician in Asia can join a top orchestra, regardless of eligibility for a national programme. Selection is based solely on merit.

The Inaugural Season in February 2027

Rugby School Thailand will host TIYO’s inaugural season in February 2027. The week-long programme will bring together talented instrumentalists from across Asia for intensive musical training and mentoring, culminating in two grand concert performances - one in the Teepsuwan Theatre and another in Bangkok.

Musicians will learn from a top musical faculty, drawn from leading international conservatoires and prestigious ensembles, including the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. 

Expanding Horizons for RST Students 

Having TIYO right on our campus opens up incredible musical opportunities for our own students, giving them a chance to hone their skills, collaborate with peers and learn from leading professionals. 

This partnership is just one of the many ways we continue to expand enrichment opportunities for our students. Across the arts and beyond, we are dedicated to inspiring excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
