We accept applications throughout the year, and students may enrol either at the beginning of a term or, on occasion, after the half-term holidays.

Students cannot join Years 11 and 13 as these years are halfway through two-year IGCSE and A Level study programmes.

Year group entry is determined by age. All students who are admitted, no matter how gifted or what they have been taught before, will be challenged to achieve more within these year groups. We do this through the setting of classes within year groups and through high-quality teaching to different abilities within each class. Children are assessed in different ways depending on their age.

Aged 2 to 4. Your child will meet with teachers and a small group of children of the same age to determine age-related language and other developmental milestones. A discovery discussion between you and teachers will follow to help us get to know you and your child.

Aged 5 to 6. Your child will meet a teacher for a one-to-one assessment, which will consider literacy, numeracy, reasoning, developmental progress, and social skills. A discovery discussion between you and teachers will follow to help us get to know you and your child.

Aged 7 to 12. Assessments in literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills will take place. An interview to establish their broader interests and character will follow. Further assessment of non-academic potential and talents may be appropriate.

Aged 13 to 16. Academic assessment will take place, either through consideration of formal Public Examination results or through assessment in numeracy, literacy, reasoning and other specific subjects as required. An interview to establish your child’s broader interests and character will follow. Further assessment of non-academic potential and talents may also take place.

We prefer in-school assessment, but we often deal with families living in other countries, so we can assess children fully online.

Yes! We offer full-time (up to 7 nights a week), weekly (up to 5 nights) or part-time (up to 3 nights) as boarding options.

Yes. We will use the assessment process to discover your child’s English language levels and cognitive ability. We will also take age, background, and other factors into consideration as we get to know your family. If we feel your child is ready for Rugby School Thailand, we will offer you a place.
