Our Biology teachers foster a deep appreciation of Biology through innovative, engaging lessons, and the promotion of Biology within the school community.

The post holder is required to plan, organise and achieve Biology departmental requirements through a period of rapid growth. The post holder will apply the appropriate strategy to ensure an environment of academic rigour and restless endeavour typifies the department.

Prep

The Year 3 teacher will teach English and Maths to the class and such other subjects as are agreed according to experience and qualification, and will have primary pastoral responsibility for the well-being of the pupils in his/her class.

The Head of Learning Support will be responsible for co-ordinating support for all aspects of special needs, including those pupils who are gifted and have learning difficulties.

The Support for Learning department is in a central position within the main prep classroom block. It comprises 5 rooms, one of which is the office for the head of department. There are two other Support for Learning teachers.

The Director of Admissions is a member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team. She or he leads the Admissions team and is responsible to the Principal for all aspects of the pupil recruitment and admissions process across the School. This involves the management of enquiries from the initial enquiry stage to enrolment, ensuring the accurate recording and management of data, and that the School is represented in a professional and welcoming manner.

The Artist in Residence/Art Technician’s main responsibility is to provide support to teachers in the Senior Art Department, particularly with GCSE and A Level Art classes. He/She should also be able to provide practical support, guidance, and inspiration to both GCSE and A Level students to ensure that they are able to visit and observe their practice and studio space. The successful applicant will report to the Head of Art (Senior).
